Dear Ahsan,The Iron Grill can not be replaced by glass,,,If it is on other than Ground floor than its okay...you can put light Stainless.Steel Decorative designs inside the glass for security ,it suits to interior also....

Join date: Aug 2011 | Thank you Mr. Navneet and Abhishek. I have looked up PVB Glass, and it appears to adress the issue of safety quite well. This approx 1" thick glass could crack, but it would not break in case of repeated blows with an axe and hammer. The effort and time required to break it would desist potential burgalars. One could also fit an alarm over the window inside of the house, which would sound upon the first impact of a blow as a further deterrant. However the price is pretty high (around Indian Rs. 300 - 330)

Glass with out grills is ideal for multi-storyed buildings and five star hotels where maintenance expenses are shown as business expenses and where there is 24 hours security system. For a single story or two story independent houses it poses two problems - 1) Security Risk and 2 ) High maitenance cost in case of breakage. Not a good idea for individual houses enen though it has high aesthetic value.
