 Topic: What are these stains on the new wall
Hi,

Can some one help me to figure out what are these patches/stains on my newly plastered walls.I have attached the image. These have bee came up after some days of plastering for few walls.. For some, they are there from the day 1.  are they really serious issues? how to correct them?

Note: The water in the area is very hard, its an area close in 3km to industrial area.


Also I have got some 2mm cracks on the parpet wall at least at 4 areas. My builder said they are due to summer heat.. are they common ? can be ignored or they need to be addressed?

Dear Vamsi
        There are many reason for these patches
1. You have not removed efflorescence from the brick by rubbing and washing before plaster.
2. Salty water used during brick work and plaster work.
3. Lack of Proper curing before and after plaster.
4. Scaffolding holes not properly filled with wet bricks.
            Now use Alkali resistant cement priming before putty filling and painting or dis tempering
        .

The water you have used in construction was salty.
now rub it and clean it with wire brush. then apply puttty and primer and then paint.
