wirecut clay bricks vs concrete bricks, which one is better for load bearing walls?

I'm from south India where everyone prefer traditional clay bricks or wire-cut clay bricks, which are manufactured using machines so more unique in dimensions, over concrete bricks for house construction even though clay bricks are costlier than concrete bricks and it adds additional construction cost in terms of more cement, sand and manpower requirement. People choose the cement bricks only if the clay bricks are not with in their budget.

So, my question is whether the clay bricks are superior to concrete bricks in terms of strength, durability and quality for load bearing walls?  

Which one is better for withstanding the shearing forces like earthquake?

Is it true than concrete bricks loose its bonding strength and more prone to deterioration in long run compared to clay bricks which keep its properties unchanged for decades?

Here, people believe that concrete brick houses are hotter than clay brick houses. Is it true even if we protect the walls from direct sun light ie. planting trees etc.?

So, I would like to hear from experts that whether there are any strong reasons to choose clay bricks over concrete bricks for house construction and to justify the increased construction costs? Please help.
