Laminate Glass for Wooden Windows

HiI have wooden window frames in my house, which are about 30mm thick. I would like to change the glass currently in these windows to laminate glass. The glass is currently of size 4mm. I would like to have laminated windows, to reduce outside noise. My questions are:1) What is the recommended thickness of the window frame, if the laminate glass is about 9mm thick.
