Various Qualities of RCC

 
RCC (Re-inforced Cement Concrete) 
RCC  1:2:4 Where cement concrete 1:2:4 is used; it means 1 part of cement 2 parts of fine aggregate/coarse sand and 4 parts of coarse aggregate. This ratio of cement concrete gives high strength of cement concrete and is recomended for the following works.

For general RCC work in builldidngs.

• Bed plates .
• lintals.
• RCC sheleves.
• Pavement

RCC 1:1.5:3 Where cement concrete 1:1.5:3 is used; it means 1 part of cement 1..5 part of fine aggregate/coarse sand and 3 parts of coarse aggregate. This ratio of concrete also gives very high strength of cement concrete and is recommended for following works.

• Structure carry in heavy loads.
• Important RCC structure such as columns, beams, slabs, cantiliver, Chhajja, porch, and balcony etc.
• Minimise the effect of earth quake.
• Gives more strength accordingly if Tor /Ribbed steel is used with cement concrete 1:1.5:3.

Note Different types of cement should not be mixed together .
Mortar richer than 1:3 are not used for brick masonry because of high shrinkage and no appearceable gain in strength of masonry also mortar strength itself should increase.

Caution in use of 53 grade cement in construction in case of grade 33 cement, the gain in strength continues beyond 28 th day because of early gain of strength by other cements do not increase much beyond 28th day .
