What are various tools used for the installation of Fluorescent tube light?
Fluorescent light tubes are of many shapes and sizes. Compact fluorescent light bulb (CF) is an increasingly popular one. A fluorescent lamp produces much useful and visible light which require only 1/3 to 1/4 of the input electricity.
Tools for installation of the tube lights
- Screw driver
- Wire cutter
- Electricians pliers
- Neon tester
It has an insulating handle which is used for fixing the screws. It is available in various sizes.
- Wire Cutter (15cm):
It consists of two sharp edges which can cut the wire.
- Electricians Pliers (15cm):
It is used for cutting, twisting and pulling wires. Cutting pliers are specified in lengths and are available in range of 15 to 30 cms. Handles of the pliers have insulation jacket to provide safety from electric shock.
- Neon Tester:
It is used for testing the supply. Phase wire is identified by the glow of light in the tester when the tip of the tester is placed on the wire. Tester is provided with a screw driver but this should be used carefully.

- Holder:
Bulb holder is the mechanical device that physically holds the bulb in position and provides electrical connection to the light bulb.
- Nail:
It is usually made of steel. Though it can be made of aluminum, brass, or many other metals. Its' surface can be coated or plated to improve corrosion resistance, gripping strength or decorative appearance. The head, shank and point may have different shapes based on the intended function of the nail.
